Otherwise they will be just some plan or dreams. Yet, some time can pass and you may not end where you want to be. This can happen when setting long deadlines. Think about it, many people (included myself) set deadlines for their goals, but they are way too long. For example, let´s say you commit to have a project done in three months. Since it is too long, you don´t feel any pressure and no sense of urgency for the first couple of months. Finally the last month comes with pressure over you, so you look for some way to get things done. See what happens here? What I want to share with you, is a little tweak you can apply, so that you have that sense of urgency and DO your stuff! This is not a secret but a technique that many successful people apply on a daily basis. Once you start applying it, you´ll have no choice but to reduce procrastination thus become more proactive.

Set “Imposible” Deadlines

That´s the secret! People could be more proactive if setting short deadlines were a priority. Take our example above. Imagine this 3 month deadline for our project, it could have taken one month of your time! This way, we will not lack sense of urgency! This is one simple technique I use, that creates that sense to me. Be careful, because it´s just easy to let things flow. Suddenly 6 months later you´ll find yourself in that same spot wondering why you haven´t made any progress yet. I know this sounds imposible, “how is it going to be possible to have a book written in a week? That´s the purpose. Trust me, you´ll advance a lot! So instead of focusing on making things whithin a long time frame, make sure you manage to set shorter deadlines for your plans! Imposible ones.
